Please give me your advice

I am up again all night with hot/cold chills and my blood pressure has gone up.

I also have very itchy skin, particularly my legs..

Like I said in a previous post, I changed from synthroid to levothyroxine months ago because it was cheaper.
Now I'm not sure what to do.

I don't know if it can be an issue with my estrogen levels or my hypothyroidism.

If I were you, I'd get my thyroid labs checked - FreeT4 and FreeT3.

Since you've been on levo for months, I doubt you're having an allergic reaction to the fillers or binders.

There's a chance your thyroid levels are off.....and, if you're taking/using any form of estrogen, this can affect thyroid levels as well.

The generic brand did not work for me. I do not know if it is because of the fillers or what. The generic made me feel worse.

My endo wrote my script for levoxyl and wrote that the brand name was medically necessary. Don't know why. My T3 is generic, it's just the T4 that has to be brand name.

One of the most important aspects of taking T4 meds is to make sure you take the same brand each time....be it Synthroid, Levoxyl....or one of the generic brands such as Mylan.

Each manufacturer uses different fillers. Fillers affect absorption and different levels of absorption mean different levels of effectiveness.

This really would apply to T3 meds as well.

My doctor knows this and, when my pharmacist supplied my levo (T4) with Mylan brand for my very first Rx (and I did well with it), my doctor now writes "Mylan brand only" on each new Rx.

I got Paddock Labs brand T3 the first time (and I did well with it) so my doctor now writes "Paddock brand only" on new Rx's for my T3.

I had the itching reaction with the Synthroid and switched to the generic and don't have that anymore. Mine is from Mylan too.

Lannett makes my levothyroxine according to their website it is made in America. http://www.lannett.com/ bottom right hand side of website American flag with comment of made in America

I'm concerned about Lupin they make my cholesterol med (simvastatin). I have to look them up.
