I was just wondering....is it common to be very light sensitive and have ocular migraines with hypothyroidism? I know the list of symptoms is long, but I have had a complete neurological workup, and I have had a thorough eye exam, and everything there is fine....so I am wondering, since my numbers are so bad....if my migraines might be related to my underactive thyroid.....any input on this idea? It would be great to think that if my levels ever were correct (and they haven't been in 10 years) that my ocular migraines would go away!

Yes. that *can* be a symptom of hypothyroidism.

I have had a couple of ocular migraines. not sure if it's a thyroid thing or a dysautonomia thing for me, but yeah. i never had one all this time i've had thyroid diseaes, up until recently when my syncope condition started kicking in badly. i went to the eye doc too, not knowing what was going on, just that i was bubbly eyed, light bothered me, and was sometimes getting these weird bursts of light, or auras of light that would near blind me. Eyes were fine, found out they were some type of silent migraine, or ocular migraine. I imagine that whatever it is, it has to do with the blood flow to that area

I had two so far within the last few months. Turns out my Free Ts were just a tad bit too low.

I have them occasionally here lately. Waiting for Ft3 results to know for sure.

All of my numbers were off at my last test, but I noticed that while I feel a bit better with the increased armour, my eyes are even more sensitive to light in the past few weeks since the increase.

I almost typed this out, but didn't - I thought I might be giving you more info that you needed.

When I get an dosage increase I can count on two things - a severe head-ache and my vision getting all wonky (wonkier).

It tends to even out after I stabilize on that dosage....it just takes time for me.

I have had bad headaches behind my right eye off and on since December, just before my hypothyroidism was diagnosed. My vision got so bad I went and got glasses. Dry eyes, esp in the am are common too. I was told to go to a neurologist but I am seriously thinking of waiting now. Sounds like this is part of the hypo issues. What cinches it for me is, it's been a lot better lately (only one in the last 2 wks and it only lasted 2 days instead of a whole week).
