so i saw my primary care doctor today. My blood pressure was elevated, i ha a low grade fever. I wrote down everything...every symptom...how freaking MISERABLE I AM....he refused to run labs or adjust my dose. His reasoning??? "I don't want to go behind your endo's back and have her 'fire you' and then there would be no other endo's in the area that you could see and you would be left without a provider"...wtf!?! I asked him wtf i am supposed to do until the 19th when i have my labs redone???? No response. I WASTED $30 only to be turned away. I was sooo upset when i left there that i honestly felt suicidal. Iwent to a park by the water and just cried and screamed. I felt like jumping in and dying. I don't honestly know how much more I can take. And what am i supposed to do if my tsh comes back still hypo and she won't decrease my dose!?! I feel so awful i feel desperate. I may not even go to work tomorrow. Things have just gone from bad to worse. I am feeling extremely depressed. I feel like stopping all my meds and just wait to die. Sorry to be so negative but this has really put my existing depression and anxiety in a really horrible place.

I'm so sorry things didn't go well with your PCP and that you are further depressed by the situation. Hypo symptoms can definitely work on us when the levels aren't optimal for our system. Please don't stop taking your meds...you would be asking for further trouble then. You mentioned an appointment on the 19th. Take a list of every symptom to your endo and tell her you feel horrible and need something done. If she won't adjust your meds then the next step for me would be to find another doctor....even in another city. It would be worth the drive in the long run if you get results.

My PCP now manages my thyroid and has for 3 years. I've had much better results with him than the endo....And he listens to what I tell him about my symptoms.

I hope you find the help you need to get your meds adjusted and for you to feel better. Take it upon yourself to find a doctor that will help you and more importantly...listen to you. I would ask them if they test FT3, FT4 as well as the TSH.
