Hi,

I've just recently been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.

I was wondering if anyone experienced severe fatigue and an inability to stay awake while going through the process of getting the right dose of thryoid medicine?

Oh Yes! very much. I was just diagnosed a little over a month ago, The fatigue is severe. I am on Levo 125mg and I am not feeling any better. Bad knee pain, dry brittle hair, losing my hair, brain fog ect...

Thank you so much for responding....It's so good to know I'm not the only one feeling this way....I'm sorry you are still not feeling any better. I'm just on my first starting dose, so I think I need an increase. The fatigue is horrible, sometimes I can't keep my eyes open.

What you're describing is THE most common symptom of thyroid problems. Hang in there, get that increase, and check out this link to optimize your thyroid:

You're going through a new, tough thing. Yes, symptoms are real! You probably will have to keep talking with your doctor about all of it to get his/her suggestions/help. I too have dry, brittle hair that won't stay put.
Tired? Yeah, right. It sure is a struggle to not sleep forever.
I hope things improve for you. You've helped a lot of members too by bringing the subject(s)up!
