I think your request for levo bump is right on! Go you! You're making nice progress.
I hope he will give me an increase. He's been pretty reasonable so far.
Your dose increases thus far have been sensible and it's clear things are being fine-tuned right now.
Your doctor might increase your levo by 12.5mcg (vs. 25mcg) and that's a very appropriate increase at this point.
Overshooting our goal (going hyper on meds) is not fun and delays our progress.
dawnrose - you just might be our poster child for optimal levels achieved properly!!
Your doctor didn't monkey around with lame dose increases (or no dose increases because of erroneous thoughts about TSH)
Yay!!!
Pat yourself on the back for working towards finding a thyroid-savvy doctor.
Hope this last dose adjustment is "it" for you (and then it's working towards maintaining optimal levels....which is MUCH easier than achieving them)
Will I have to split the Levo for the 12.5mcg increase?
Yes, to get a 12.5mcg increase, we have to split a 25mcg tab.
Since T4 has a 7-day half-life, it won't matter if the split isn't completely even as long as the other 1/2 is used as well.
