New addition of Cytomel help please

Since my t4 to t3 conversion ha been poor, the doctor prescribed some cytomel to add to the synthroid.  I am to take the cytomel in two daily doses.  She said it would probably be best to take it in the afternoon in case it caused insomnia if I took it in the evening.


I take the synthroid and first dose of cytomel an hour before breakfast in the morning.  I can't figure out when to take the second dose if it is to be taken away from food and 4 hrs away from taking iron or calcium.  I eat lunch at 12:30 and take iron.  I eat supper at 4:30 and take calcium.  How can I fit the t3 in there?  There is no time?

Iron tablet ideally is taken on an empty stomach to increase absorption of the iron, because foods such as tea, milk and coffee either bind to the iron and prevent iron absorption, or that they increase the pH of stomach to cause reduction of iron absorption. The only time you take iron tablet with food is when taking on an empty stomach would cause gastric irritation, but that iron will bind to the food to cause reduced absorption of iron.

If you take 1xCytomel + 1xSynthroid one hour before breakfast e.g 7am, then 1x iron tablet at 12pm (5hrs apart from T4/T3). Eat lunch at 1pm (1 hr after taking iron tablet). Take 1x Cytomel at 6pm, and have dinner at 7pm.
