Need help from members with experience

I had to edit this content because I couldn't find a way to reply to anyone else's post or to my own.  So I think I need some help with the website itself.



I did start taking my levothyroxin at night. Since I almost always get up to pee between 1;30 and 2:30 then I decided to take the pill then.  It has been about 6 weeks since I've been on this new dosage and I do not feel any better at all.  It is really dragging me down as I'm normally hyper...now my brain still is but the body won't go. 



Help!!


What if you are NOT getting better? My thyroid was removed in 2014 and I've never had an episode like this. Suddenly or maybe not so suddenly I started feeling weak and at first thought it related to my issue of low Vit D...but when I increased my Vit D it made no difference. Then I got a UTI and went to the doctor and as part of that appt told her that my feet and legs had been cold all winter. She had some tests run and that is how we know that my hormone levels are too low. She increased the dosage and now I'm struggling to move and breathe. She said to call her in 30 days if I don't feel better. It has been 12 days since I'm on the new, higher dose and I'm not feeling any better at all. 

Would someone who has had a similar experience please let me know how long to expect to feel this bad? How long at a new dosage does one NOT feel any better? Should I wait 30 days or 14 or 20 or what? I know it takes a while to get better but what does "a while" mean?

Bah, for me, I could feel results by the morning whether it was good or bad symptoms because I took my thyroid medications at night.

For me, I feel weak or lethargy when my electrolytes are low. I felt a difference in 1 day. In the beginning it was difficult to find out why I felt so weak--like it was difficult to carry my body around, it felt like a ton of bricks.

Hypothyroidism has a tendency to deplete vitamins in our body so do research on that. I take a very good multivitamin in the morning every day and sometimes twice a day for me depending on my stress level.

Bah, When I changed from taking the T4 in the morning to bedtime, I also felt better. I realized I was absorbing most of the T4 by taking it at bedtime and that by taking it in the morning, I think most of it landed in the toilet. I instantly felt 98% better in just 8 hours after taking it--at bedtime. This may be another option.

I had mine nuked five years ago. Due to Graves Disease. Was doing well and maintaining now all of a sudden they are raising my meds up to 200 mcg levothyroxine. So I have no answer for you. My hair is breaking, skin is bone dry and my memory is terrible.

I have no idea how old you are, but there is a direct link between your progesterone level and your thyroid. I am premenopausal and estrogen dominant AND hypothyroid. I knew that progesterone therapy would alter my thyroid function, but I was not prepared for how much. I went from .150mcg to .75mcg in one week after I started therapy. I have never felt better. Just thought I would toss that out there as food for thought
