Hypothyroidism Support Group
Hypothyroidism is the disease state caused by insufficient production of thyrohormone by the thyroid gland. There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. I just switched to Armour and got off Synthroid about 2 weeks ago. I am feeling beter and better everyday and I really think it's b/c of the armour. I have a lot of anxiety/panic and I am soooo hopeful that I will have the outcome you did! The doctor who finally gave me Armour said it's old school, but she does have patients who do great on it. I was desperate and said, Let's try it. Most docs I know won't even discuss it. I also have endometriosis and am Insulin Resistant so I get all kinds of weird strange symptoms but wouldn't that be great if many went away??? Woo-Hoo!
What is your history?
Palm - I too am insulin resistant. Interesting how things go hand-in-hand...but by insulin is most likely from my weight and should correct itself as I continue to loss.
Thanks for your responses.
I am sorry to hear your having a rough time of this. My heart goes out to you and everyone who is suffering. It stinks! I honestly sometimes feel like my body is falling apart and I am TOO young to feel so bad! Can you tell I am in pain tonight? LOL
Palm, that is great news to hear there is HOPE! Thanks for sharing.
Hang in there!
And thankfully I now have a doctor that doesn't treat by labs...he treats by how I feel. My TSH is barely above 0 (he says it's ok due to Hashi's) and my frees are finally near where they should be in the ranges! He also lets me 'stress dose' (take a little extra if I'm ill or having stress). Wish all thyroid docs were like him :)
PS love your dancing guy-happy feet!!!

You should check out what tests you may need to see if you have adrenal fatigue or vitamin deficiencies. Any of these may cause an inability to absorb armour properly and prevent you from feeling better.
I read in Dr. Titlebaum's book that Armour helps - anyone go from straight T3 to Armour and have success?
