Hi everyone, I decided since I have been getting messages about my reaction to the Armour that I would just make a post about it.
I had been on the generic of Levothyroxine for a couple of years and my numbers were never level. I had bad experience with the medicine causing me to have heart palpitations, fast heart rate and my eyes would be very sensitive to any light, and some other more minor problems.
So last year I got fed up with the endocrinologists messing around with my medicine and talked it over with my ND. Together with my ND we decided to try Armour since I have heard such good things about it. I don't really remember the dosage with Armour, but I started with I think it was 1 gram??? I know that it was small, but my ND had wanted me to start with the small and build up after a couple of weeks??? (I am trying to remember but it was last year and my brain doesn't really work like it did when I was younger).
The first day I tried it I started to have a reaction to it, but I thought maybe I would get better afterwards. However, by the forth day I couldn't take it any more. I almost went to the hospital, something I don't do unless I think that I will die.
My reactions to Armour were, a very, very rapid heartbeat; my eyes became so senitive to light that I had to wear sunglasses in the house with the lights off, even then the light was so powerful; I could barely walk because it was so hard for my to catch my breath and my leg muscles hurt so much.
I was very disappointed since I felt that Armour was a better choice since it is natural. I still feel this way, but in my case it didn't work. I think that if you can use it, it is much better than the synthetic, which I am praying that one day I can get off of it. My ND believes that there is more going on in my body that no one has been able to figure out yet. In April, I have an appointment with a doctor that specializes in "hard to treat cases".

Thanks for sharing this. I did wonder.
Could you still have problems such as Adrenal causing the ongoing problems? What about low levels of vitamin B-12? How's the Iron? Also what about any Copper/Zinc imbalances? These two go hand-in-hand with the Iron and likely other mineral deficiencies play a role too.

Barbell, as I said I don't remember all of the dose that I took as it was almost a year ago and only for four days, but my ND is very familiar with the conversion.
The new doctor that I am going to see in April highly recommends Armour so I am hoping that he will understand what happened to me. He lectures all over on the natural treatment of thyroid diseases.
