That's an unusual dose you're taking - not because it's overly big (at all) but, due to the fact that levo usually comes in 125mcg or 137mcg tabs.

Everyone's dose requirement is different. Much depends on just what the thyroid is doing, if anything......as well as how much the person is absorbing.

I am aware of people taking doses as high as 300mcg.

For whatever it's worth, I take alternating doses of 125/137 mcg levo.....and 10mcg liothyronine (T3).

Since T3 is 4 times as potent as T4 (levo), my 10mcg T3 dose is considered equivalent in "strength" to 40mcg T4.

Therefore, my doses could be considered equivalent to alternating 165/177mcg.....

yeah, I am on 100 mcg of levo. plus 5 mcg of liothyronine right now, but I am definitely not optimized yet! I don't think that's a particularly high dose. I suspect if a lot of people are on a lower dose long term, for many it is because their doctors are only looking at TSH and keeping them on the dose they're at when it becomes "normal" but they may never get their levels to optimal. That said, everyone is different and I'm sure a low dose is all that is needed for some people to feel great. Not something I would worry about.
