Nature-Throid 81.25mg (1.25 Grains)
Date: 6-12-14
TSH 1.95 (Range 0.27-4.20)
FT3 2.6 (Range 2.0-4.4)
FT4 (L) 0.82 (Range 0.93-1.70)
Serum Cortisol (3-point check):
(Range before 5pm: 3.7-19.4)
8:00am = 14.6
12:00pm = 5.8
(Range after 5pm: 2.9-17.3)
5:00pm = 5.2

What is going on in my body??!! I have been gluten free for six months now. I know I have a leaky gut issue hence the strict gluten free diet, plus I'm gluten sensitive with DH rash. I have low ferritin, low D, low magnesium, low potassium, low sodium, low B vitamins, all of which I've been supplementing. I've had 2 doctors tell me that clearly I have malabsorption problems. Ya think, doctor!!!!!
I have low Cortisol per saliva testing, and now Dr tested serum cortisol as shown above.
My thyroid numbers are dropping on the Nature-Throid. Wonder if I need to change thyroid meds? Or I'm thinking more likely its the absorption issues. =/ *FRUSTRATED*
My symptoms: Fatigue/Weakness, Low blood sugar, Heart palps/racing heart, Super dry skin, Dry hair, Internal shaking/vibrating.

I was on 97.5mg for five weeks only when I had the April labs done. My numbers tanked then in April, so Dr had me go back to former dose of 81.25mg to see if that would bring them back up (only because of me having difficulty tolerating NDT due to low cortisol/iron).
Sorry, I forgot if you have had the ACTH Stim test yet?
By now you know there are some doctors who think that Naturethroid and Armour, because they are porcine and not bio identical, can disrupt adrenal function. I dont know if that is true or not. It may or may not be true with me as my adrenals keep crashing and I am on NT.
No I have not done the ACTH Stim test yet. Today I went and did more blood work to check Aldosterone levels since I've had low potassium/sodium.
Yes, I've heard a bit of discussion about the porcine meds not always working for some patients. A shame too since I'm trying to go the 'natural' route rather than synthetic, but I may just have to try a med change. I've heard good things about this Dr I'll see next month--hoping he has some good knowledge to share!!
Gage, do you have any comments on my serum cortisol? I know you and I believe in Saliva cortisol but thought doing the serum check once wouldn't be bad just to get a baseline.
To clarify, I am not aware of issues with dessicated thyroid for the thyroid, or its efficacy, the only little issue that is bouncing around right now is that it might suppress adrenal function. I just spoke to the Hotze Clinic in Houston and they don't believe that is the case. That does not mean its NOT the case but who is to know right now, no one as usual. I also asked Elaine Moore about it and am waiting for her response. Will inform.
