Hypo or Meno !!!

I have experienced,anxiety,heart palps,night sweats,fatigue,mood swings, ect....... for quite some time. I have really battled my thyroid problems. Most of the time hypo, but then I was diagnosed with thyroiditis, which at times makes me hyper. What I thought all this time though was, It was all perimenopause, but now that I am on the right dose of synthroid most of my symptoms have ceased. I have been on synthriod for about 5-6 yrs now, and I have to say I think I was hypo for yrs before starting meds. I feel normal again, and its a good feeling, because for yrs I had suffered.

I totally understand! I myself was having anxiety, hot flashes, night sweats, hair loss, then they adjusted my thyroid med which hadn't been tested or treated in over two years and BOOM, symptoms faded. I recently had a lapse of taking my thyroid medicine for five days and guess what happened? I didn't get my period for nearly 45 days. Once I started back taking them religiously (as you know we must) my periods came back on time.

Just recently though, I find myself not bleeding hardly at all when I do start, mostly spotting for the whole five days it lasts. Now I'm thinking it may be perimenopause creeping up on me. What about you, any new symptoms lately?

So happy for you, even though you suffered for years not knowing what was going on with you. Sometimes it is not diagnosed by thyroid stimulating hormone alone.

To Roseypeach, I have had the same problems with my cycle. When they took me off synthroid for about 2 mo, my cycle came back , now that I'm back on the med its spotty or not at all. I feel bloated all the time too. What are women suppose to do???? LOL!!! Thank you for the replies ladies:)
