I begged for a higher dose -- 75 mcg so this left me with 6 symptoms left out of 19.
7 (SEVEN) long years I suffered by taking T4 ONLY!!
7 years later, I finally found a doctor that after putting me on 85 mcg Levo came to her senses that T4 alone was never going to take away the remaining symptoms. This finally led up to putting me on Armour. I've finally found a doctor that listens to what I need and works with me to try different medications & doses to take away the complaining. I Truly think that she didn't want every appointment to be complaining, complaining. She wants to find a solutions for problems and not just cover it up. I've been thru 5 doctors since the diagnose in 2004..
This last one -- I told her that I have a MALFUNCTIONING thyroid that is NEVER going to produce the amount of hormone that I NEED so this lead up to taking Armour. You might trying telling this doctor that you have the same thing.
I've been on Armour since 11/2011 and it's put LIFE back into me.
I've returned to my previous clothes size & weight -- Pre-HYPO. I finally feel like the person that I used to be Pre-HYPO!!
You must take charge of your own health; you must tell them what you want and need. All your appointments should be about your existing chronic symptoms and the doctor coming up for a remedy.
I keep a journal of my symptoms and how each symptoms affects my daily chores and take this to the appointments.
Cute, keep looking for a doctor that fits you, there is one out there. It took me 7 yrs and this seems like a good fit so far. She listens to each & every symptom and I let her know if it's a T4 or a T3 symptom and we decide what I need.
Continue to do research to understand the disease and your symptoms.
Don't give up.
My Doc says it's hard to find a lab that can do an accurate FT3 reading
I guess that's why everyone has different lab readings.
like we have to go by our symtoms and ask to be treated for them.
