hot and cold flashes

I'll get really hot, red in the face but my temperature will be normal and my blood pressure normal. Later I will get cold and have to turn the heat back up. This happens a lot. I'm 36 so too young for menopause. Is this because my thyroid isn't at optimal level?

That's a really good question. I've always heard of the intolerance to cold and I used to have that, but now (especially at night) I have the night sweats followed by icy chills (repeat). Not every night, but they often seem to go along with my other symptoms. I look forward to seeing a more knowledgable response to your question.

I'm also really sensitive to the cold. I can't tolerate it very well at all. Those night sweats and icy chills sound horrible! I hope we both can find answers!

Most likely a symptom of hypothyroid. I had this for years before I got treatment, now that is one symptoms that has diappeared finally.

Yes, you're too young for that. And, it's one of the premier hypothyroid symptoms! Especially in the beginning.

I used to have to change my sheets up to 3 times a night (I'm so not kidding). I'd be hot, then freezing and break out into a vicious sweat.

I was told - at 26 - that I had menopause. GRRRRRRRRRR When, I indeed had a very serious thyroid issue.
