In quite a while. Have literally lost count. Went to my doctor for lab work and she told me it was normal and renewed my synthroid of .75 I'm just wondering how it's coming back normal since I've not been taking it? I have anxiety swallowing pills and that's what is preventing me from getting it down. Even tho the pill is tiny. I have been tired and sleeping a lot also... Sometimes 12-16 hours at a time. A couple months ago I had a racing heart sitting still. It was in the 160's and I went to the ER. Everything was fine but I'm worried that maybe not taking it is causing my heart to act up. I guess I don't fully understand this condition. I am hypothyroid. Can anyone educate me on if I should try to take the synthroid again or have I been cured that's why my results were normal?
One thing to keep in mind is this: It takes awhile for synthroid to get out of your system, so you can actually still have it in your system for quite some time after taking that last pill.
Is there any particular reason you stopped taking your meds? It's not a good idea...many of us here have to fight to get our meds, I was just wondering why you stopped.
Sorry, dyslexia since childhood and the hypo thys and hypo adrens have not helped one ounce.
Regarding hypothyroid, I am not aware of any cure or of it just going away on its own at some point. Not a good idea to stop taking your meds in any case but make sure your dosage is commensurate with your lab levels.
