Hard to find Tirosint!

I have called three pharmacies in my area and none of them carry, not can they get from suppliers, the prescription drug Tirosint, which my endo. prescribed for me this week. I finally find a local Kroger that can order it, but it won't be here for three days.

This kind of makes me nervous about taking this, but I am not doing well on Armour and was also not doing well on Synthroid. Is this a bad sign? lol

I am really getting frustrated with this thyroid business!

Walgreens ordered Tirosint for me. It was made by a company a new company located in Switzerland. Tirosint has no fillers so it is much stronger than Snythroid. I had knee surgery on 7/17, so I only took Tirosint for 3 days the week before surgery.
I have insomnia problems,and I had & anxiety side effects.before the surgery due to Tirosont.
I will try this drug again after I get out of the hospital . It is a gel cap,so can't be split. I will try substituting 1 day of Tirosint for the rest of the week on synthroid. Gradually introducing Tirsint for Snythroid.

I am nervous because she started me on such a high dose. I am going on a cruise in two weeks. I can't afford to not feel good.

You can always look up your drugs at the NIH. Just Google Nationional Institutes of Health. Their drug coverage is great. Also try the Mayo Clinic and Webmd to read up on the new drug. You can get other people's opinion about your drug on Www.askapatient.com. I looked but Tirosint wasn't listed. Maybe it has another name it goes by. Hope this helps you.
