This new one is actually in network and works with integrative and functional medicine.
He does a lot of socially-conscious volunteer work and even became a certified yoga teacher because he thought it would benefit his patients.

I found him through the Thyroid Resources Group here at Daily Strength - there was (buried in there somewhere) a reference to the Institute for Functional Medicine and I followed it to the Institute's website and started to check my insurance company to see who was in my network.
As for the field of Functional Medicine..... There is still a lot of controversy about its methods. However, I will tell you that both of my friends who are now optimized go to doctors who are trained in this discipline.
Their CARE is mostly allopathic, but the philosophy is to treat each patient as an individual - sort of one step beyond integrative medicine.
The only reason I haven't consulted either of my friends' doctors is that they are both out-of-network for me.
So - I am cautiously optimistic.

I'm sorry you have to wait so long to get in, but something I've found to be mostly true is this: If they're good...there's a wait. If not...you can get into see them anytime.
He seems really cool - there is a section on his website where he writes that people without insurance should not feel they can't get an appointment and he will work something out with them.
He is also an anti-fracking activist.
I think I am going to have a much brighter future.
But right now...... Oh boy oh boy: NO energy and somehow "forgot" how to sign my name on one of my letters....
