Feeling fatigued a breathing heavily w/exercise

Okay, so I have a very sluggish thyroid and an exhausted all the time. However, I started exercising about a month ago, and I noticed that when I go for a walk outside, it doesn't take long (less than a quarter of a mile) before I feel very tired and, while not gasping for air like I would if I had asthma, I definitely feel it in my breathing....to the point where I don't talk much to my husband when we walk. I am overweight (about 50 pounds). Could this be the weight and beginning to exercise causing this problem?

It could be the weight.....it could be the body just starting to get used to exercising.... it could be the typical hypo symptom called "air hunger" (inability to take in a deep breath)....or some/all of the above.

So this is a hypo symptom too?? Great....that list just gets bigger :(

Ummm....I thought I was "done" with new symptoms once my levels were optimized.

However, my doctor dropped the ball twice with me over the past 6 months and didn't increase my T3 dose when my labs first showed the need.

I developed new-for-me symptoms so, the list of symptoms I've ever had as a result of too-low-for-me thyroid hormone levels is now almost 40...depending on how you would count them.

Have you had labs lately? Are your levels low? It sounds like they are. Very typical symptoms,not your weight alone. Work up to stuff slowly and see if it's still like this.

My levels are all very low....I am at least glad that this is a symptom so it explains my horrible feeling when exercising. I thought the weight alone was to blame for my shortness of breath, and even though I know it doesn't help, I have friends much larger than me who never have troubles when we are walking.

Yup, I bet your levels are too low and causing this.
