I have never been on speed, of any kind..but I thought it must be a similar feeling..
I then tried a lesser dose..one quarter of tablet..same thing..

Do you think the fact that you're doing P90X might be coming into play? You could be replacing fat with muscle which might result in no weight loss or even possibly a slight gain.
And, exercise can help increase conversion which means a possible increase in the FT3 level. That's an increase in metabolism. Higher FT3 levels can sometimes mean increased appetite.
Bottom line, when considering trying new supplements, etc., I've always followed the advice of my first-ever thyroid forum: Make one change at a time.
This way, you'll know how each thing might affect you vs. wondering which might be suspect.
