Hypothyroidism Support Group
Hypothyroidism is the disease state caused by insufficient production of thyrohormone by the thyroid gland. There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. Advanced hypothyroidism may cause severe complications, the most serious one of which is...
First, cut yourself some slack. If you had cancer, I doubt you'd be beating yourself up.
Second, slow down. I know that sounds like a "duh, I'm hypothyroid, so of course I'm slow" - but really, slow down and examine what you're doing before you complete it. Yes, work will slow, but it'll be correct.
Finally, once you get proper treatment the "brain fog" will pass. And, if you stay on top of it and get adequate adjustments - perhaps you won't have to deal with it on a regular basis.

I really feel for anyone with this disease, especially those who struggle to be treated with appropriate medication. It takes a long time to feel "normal" again. Keep pressing on. Your life is worth fighting for!
My own manager is hard to read. I think she feels compassionate in THEORY, but has a difficult time in PRACTICE if or when some mistakes come to light.
