Sadly, with Hypothyroidism, you're going to have to be your own medical advocate and become very proactive on demanding the right tests and meds. You need to make sure you're getting more than just a TSH blood test. You need to also have your Free T4 and Free T3 tested. Both should be in the upper half of your lab range. I've learned, for me, TSH results mean nothing, T4-only replacement meds only work up to a point, and T3/Cytomel has changed my life from a living hell to one of blessed health again for the first time in years.
If your doctor is not willing to consider prescribing T3/Cytomel or Armour, then switch to a different doctor until you find one who's sympathetic and willing to listen to you. Good luck!
