Just a quick progress report.... I have gone back to the gym and am doing everything I used to do when in top form, just LESS of it. I just grit my teeth (My teeth are one of the only places on my body that haven't been hurting) and worked through and despite the pain.
Woke up this morning after a solid week of this and..... The pain was diminished by at least 85%!!!!
I think what might have happened is that the inactivity was atrophying the healthy muscles and causing everything to clench up. And there were no longer any endorphins in my blood stream, so I was getting really sluggish and blue.
I have to tell you - I feel so grateful. I followed my own intuition. I stopped physical therapy and I stopped acupuncture and I stopped rolling around on those cruel foam rollers and softballs.... I did everything "they" told me not to.... And NOW I am starting to heal....

I heard a great pc of advice: "The fear of pain is often worse than the pain itself" Meaning - if you work through it...without fear of pain (tensing up/worrying/anticipating pain) that eventually the pain will diminish as you build your body up again.
I truly believe that. Pain is horrible...we all know that. But, in many cases we become prisoners to it - instead of it's opponent. Good for you for taking charge!
