So I have had an underactive thyroid for over 20 years, and have never had medication that controlled it completely. I am currently taking 137 mg of Tirosint, and always have extreme fatigue. For the past year I have had a ton of pain in my lower back/hips/legs, etc. and have had three round of physical therapy, each lasting 8 weeks, and still no relief. The pain is debilitating. MRIs show degenerative disk with a mild herniation, but the rheumatologist, the pain management doctor, my doctor, etc all say that it is not anything that surgery would help, and that I need to just exercise more. By the way, exercise is extremely painful, as walking is painful and sometimes impossible to do due to the heaviness I feel in my legs. I have burning and tingling in my feet also.

So I am wondering.....could any of this be related to my thyroid? My doctors say no, and it is next to impossible to get into my endocrinologist. I have been waiting four months for an appt now, and I am an existing patient. She says she is just that busy........

I need some answers. This is truly depressing and really affecting my life. I do need to lose some weight, but I know people MUCH heavier than I am who are not experiencing this kind of pain. Any ideas???
