Can this be from not enough thyroid?

I have been seeing an endocrinologist for several months.
When I frst saw her, my tsh was 4.92. I was put on 100mcg of synthroid from .75 levethyroxine. My tsh went to .72.
I felt hyper and very anxious on the 100mcg, so they lowered it to .88.
I then thought I was stll hyper, so they put me back on .75 of synthroid.
Now, when I had my thyroid checked a few months later, my tsh is 4.03.
(4.50 is the top normal number). My family doctor said the number is starting to creep back up.
Anyway, I am very tired, feel like I'm in a fog and feel bummed out.
I have had anxiety even on the .75 which leads me to believe my anxiety disorder is the real problem with the anxiety.
Does anyone else have this problem or can this be from not enough thyroid med?

Hi! You can't really see the whole picture unless you have your Free T-4 and Free T-3 checked. These are the actual thyroid hormones your body can utilize. You can't just go by tsh. If you are at the bottom of the range for one or the other you may need more T-4 or even a T-3 med.I hope your doctor checks these too or you need another doctor. Hope this helps. Your symptoms do sound hypo.

Got to www.stopthethyroidmadness.com site, you will find all the answers. Like Bransana said, get your free T3/T4 checked. Ask your doctor if he/she knows about the test, as they have to get both at the same time, to compare, if not find another doctor...

Yes as others have said. Also when you find out about the Free Ts and where you at with these, you may find your replacement med doses could likely be in between 75 and 100 mcg for your Free T4 only. Some people do have to tweak with their doses according to where their FT4 is at to feel their best. Then if your FT3 is low, you might need a T3 med. If not low, then none is not likely needed.

I found that no dose of Synthroid worked for me. I was on 100 and 88 and 44 and still felt the symptoms of hyperthyroidism and no relief from the hypothyroidism symptoms.

I liked the levothyroxine better.

I am on levothyroxine,have been for about 4 weeks now.
So far I have had ONE day where I didn't get up in the morning and then want to crawl straight back into bed...
was there a reason they changed to synthoid??

Are you taking the Levothyroxine on an empty stomach, and waiting at least an hour before taking or eating anything else, and are you NOT taking any supplement with calcium or aluminum in it within four hours before AND four hours after taking it? If not, your body cannot absorb it.
