Hypothyroidism Support Group
Hypothyroidism is the disease state caused by insufficient production of thyrohormone by the thyroid gland. There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. I have read three thyroid related books so far. All three have offered very valuable information. I highly recommend checking out the following books:
"Hashimoto's Thyroiditis: Lifestyle Interventions for Finding and Treating the Root Cause" by Dr Izabella Wentz (she's a pharmacist--has a great website and facebook that she shares lots of great info on). She really gets in depth about finding the root cause of your thyroid disease and talks about all aspects of health and diet related to the thyroid. http://www.amazon.com/Hashimotos-Thyroiditis-Lifestyle-Interventions-Treating/dp/0615825796
Dr Steven Hotze has a really fantastic book that many of us here have read and it is really informative in breaking down how the thyroid works and how the hormones effect ones body. He talks about the effectiveness of natural dessicated thyroid vs. synthetic thyroid meds. Also mentioned is the role Big Pharma plays in the medical world. I love how he shares personal stories of patients and how they struggled to find proper treatment and then talks about their healing process once they find the right treatment for that individual person. http://www.amazon.com/Hypothyroidism-Health-Happiness-Illness-Revealed/dp/1599323966/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394896763&sr=1-1&keywords=dr+hotze+hypothyroid
And last but not least, I love love Gena Lee Nolin's book about her personal thyroid journey. She shares in depth how she struggled with her health and how she hit dead ends with doctors, but then found the right path with a good doctor and proper thyroid medication and diet. She shares a lot of beneficial info on personal care, diet, etc. In the back of the book she lists numerous resources for all things thyroid related. http://www.amazon.com/Beautiful-Inside-Out-Conquering-Thyroid/dp/1451687222/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394897467&sr=1-1&keywords=gena+nolin+thyroid

Dr. Barry Durrant-Peatfield also addresses adrenals in his book:

As of this date, I've probably read about 15 books on the thyroid and Dr. Durrant-Peatfield's is my favorite right now.

This is a paperback. I thought this was a good read, for me.
