my hair is slowly falling out. I see it when I shampoo my hair. how about you?

Oh yes, losing hair all the time. According to my doc, it's the thyroid not the meds, but unfortunately even though my meds are good, my hair still falls out

I loose a lot as well. But I heard that you normally shed hair anyway, but I can pull out hand fulls after I shower.

Yeah I lost hair but I have two diseases that can do that so it could be either...my hair is starting to fall out again...oh but my doctor always asks me if I am having any hair loss on this medicine so it could be and my hair always fell out the most in the shower.

I think it is them medicine but I cant remember if I was on synthroid then or not....

Before I was on synthroid I was losing hair. The synthroid helped tremendously and the hair grew back (I feel very lucky).

There definitely is some shedding that is normal. I don't know what though. Anyone have a resource to look that up?

If you happen to be on synthroid take a look at the side effects that comes with your prescription of synthroid. I just read on mine not long ago that losing hair is one of the side effects.

Hi..yes I have lost hair from other parts of my body as well..my eyebrows and under arm...not sure..but I think it is the thyroid that causes this problem..lol Beth

My hair falls out all over the place. Especially when I wash it; it comes out in handfulls. There is also a lot of hair on my bed pillow every morning.

Losing hair comes with hypothyroidism. I've lost hair from my head, eyebrows, armpits (don't miss that) and now the hair on my legs has slowed way down in it's growth. My Dr. says it's just part of the disease. I hate it though. There are some suppliments that can help. Biotin is a biggy.

I just recenty read in a few places that in Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism, the hair loss is from an autoimmune attack on the hair folicle. Interesting I thought, so what else does it attack besides the thyroid too? IF THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE.

When my levels are off weird things happen, like losing lots of hair, or having bouts of dermatitis. But it could also be genetic. My mom doesn't have thyroid problems, but is constantly loosing her hair.

My endo told it's from hyper or hypo, either one will do it with Hashi's. Mine fell out like crazy when i was hyper last summer, when i would brush it would all come out and my was TSH 0.06 when falling out. If that helps.

I've lost some hair too - but I mostly have dry skin.

It is proven that both Hypothyroisism and replacement meds make your hair fall out. I still lose more than normal amount of hair but I def. lost huge clumps with every increase. The Walgreens insert says hair loss for 3-4 months as a side-effect.

so far i've only lost a little hair. it's also lost it's shine and it seems kinda dry. not as dry as my skin though. ouch.

Yes, I have had hair loss, you could make a wig with the hair in my bathroom "yuck" ! I have also lost hair growth in other places also, underarms, etc My doctor says this is just a part of having the disease.
