Anti Thryoglobulin antibodies

I got copies of the bloodwork that my endocrinologist had ordered. Unfortunately so far the soonest I can get in to see her and discuss these results is October 15th. What struck me the most of the things that were not in the normal range was my anti thyroglobulin antibodies. The normal range is 0-20. Mine was 202. Anyone with any thoughts or opinions on that. I was diagnosed by a primary physician and put on levothyroxine over a year ago from the result of one set of tests ((my free t4 was in the normal range but my TSH ultrasensitive was high at 27.6 (.40-5.50 is normal )which the results said are indicative of hypothyroidism)) and my thyroid levels I have been told are fine now on the low dosage I am on. I am still feeling very fatigued. It could be from fibromyalgia instead of hypothyroidism though.

Call you doc if you haven't heard from either within the week. I think your levothyroxine dosage is too low. How is you cholesterol and triglycerides? If they are elevated too, your diagnosis may change. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an auto-immune disease. I also have a history of fibromyalgia, first diagnosed 16 years ago, and was re-confirmed in May just before my thyroid studies were done. Do you have any trouble swallowing, or bad snoring? Sleep apnea is a problem for me, diagnosed almost 3 years ago. There's a lot of stuff to sift through when you have auto-immune problems. Don't worry. I lived with Hashimoto's at least 5 years according to my doc, based on the size and configuration of my goiter.
Get your rest and keep those muscles stretched in the meantime. Sometimes I can get my wife to give me a shoulder massage. That's the best!

My cholesterol has notoriously been high as well as my triglycerides. I am currently taking pravastatin and the doc is happy that even though my cholesterol and triglycerides may still be on the high side not as high as before and my good cholesterol has gone up and before pravastatin my good cholesterol was normally below normal.

P.S. I do snore and have a mild case of sleep apnea and do have some trouble swallowing. They did an ultrasound of my thyroid again and said there was no change and it was normal the first time I had it done.

Hi,

Just wanted to add that my naturopath/MD told me to take Moducare (can be found in health food stores and some drugstores or online) to help with antibodies. I bought it and took one, and I broke out with blotches and a hive....however, I read the box and found out it is made from pine, which I'm allergic to. It is basically plant sterols and stanols and is supposed to boost the immune system. It is supposed to be an excellent product, so don't go by what happened to me, I'm just very reactive to everything. I think it's worth trying.
