Not sure if this relates to hypo but a pinched nerve will certainly cause those symptoms an can take a couple weeks to ease. Have you tried warm packs on it?
Also, it sure sounds like myofascial pain symptoms as well, the pain is referred from an initial trigger point (in this case in your neck) to other places in your body through your nerve network to secondary and tertiary pain points.... stress does not help this at all, as you are tensing your shoulders and holding your neck tight...
I would not worry unless it continues for at least 2 more weeks, then perhaps see a doc.... hope some heat helps!
I have found Epsom salts to be AMAZING! No need to get in a bathtub up to your neck.... You can make a poltice with the salts and some water. If you have a wet heating pad, you can soak the sponge in the solution.
