it seems my thyroid "screws" the so many things --- so tell me --- has anyone ever gotten rashes?
the past few days i have one - itchy and "cottage cheese" like in texture. woke up this morning with it all over -- i went to the doc today --- stumped them - lol. they figure it's due to stress, dehydration and dry skin.
they gave me prednisone --- so far all it is doing is making me queasy.
so - is this something thyroid related -- or just a weird thing that popped up.

Stress is the most likely culprit, but allergic reaction is a possibility.

Yes. I get weird rashes on my ankles. No rhyme or reason.

as far as i know nothing allergic --- nothing is new -- no new detergents, shampoos, foods --- etc.

and now -- it's fine and goes away during the day and pops up at night. sigh.

I had hives too. Hypothyroid people have more histamine in their blood and this causes rash. Goes away with proper med.

Rough year for allergies, sometimes if your system gets overloaded it pops up in strange ways.
if you are due for a thyroid test any time soon be sure your thyroid practitioner knows you have taken steroids, it will likely throw you off...

I get rashes also. It starts off as an red itchy spot, then when I scratch it, I get hives. It has happened on my back, ankles, arms, shoulders. I noticed when I went off my thyroid meds it went away. I was on Tirosint when it happened. If you read the Tirosint reviews for rashes many people on thyroid meds get the same thing.

Some people take an antihistimine to help with the rashes. Or maybe your doctor can put you on a different med. I have not got any rashes with Synthroid

Drink a crap load of water to get rid of that excuse. We as a whole don't drink enough water.

Have one now. This is a new iteration... Looks like a piece of linguine crawled under the lower inside part of my right bicep..... GGGGRRRRRRRR! Maybe I can apply enough hydrocortisone to get my adrenal glands pumping again????
