So, as I've mentioned before, I have had a lot more hypo symptoms since starting medication in September. Along with awful fatigue, I was getting mild to moderate headaches nearly everyday by late afternoon or evening. I have had headaches along with fatigue often in the past, so this wasn't something that particularly worried me. Wednesday of this week I started getting a headache by midmorning and it got worse through the day. It has now been over 48 hours and it has not gone away. It's worse today, too.

Has anyone else had headache like this that last for days? It feels more like pressure than sharp pain, and is much worse when I move or bend down, so my initial thought was sinus headache, but I don't think I have a sinus infection. I don't have a fever or any other symptom as far as I can tell.

I should also add that 1 week ago I upped my levo. from 50 to 100mcg and added 5mcg/day of cytomel. At the same time I also added supplements on Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Selenium. I haven't noticed any other changes in how I feel, good or bad, since the change.

I have no clue if this is even hypo related or not, but I've never had a headache that lasts for than a day before, and it's driving me nuts!

I had a headache for a week after I started Armour. It was awful. Kinda made me nauseous too. After a week it just went away. I think your body just has to get used to the meds.

Well, the good news is it is gone... for now. I took some extra strength Excedrin, and it took about 2 hours to kick in, but when it did it worked. Unfortunately I do not normally consume caffeine, so as soon as my headache started to disappear I suddenly felt like I was about to jump out of my skin. It's been another 2 hours now and I am calming down but my head still feels better. We'll see if/when it comes back. I don't think I'll be hitting the Excedrin again anytime soon, though.

Prior to being diagnosed I was getting the worst headaches ever several times a week. I mean I was incapacitated by these headaches. Once I started treatment these headaches continued for many months until my levels improved. While my levels are still not optimal I have not had these headaches in more than a year.

I was having migraines, and found out my Ft3 was low in the range. Also had trouble getting my iron to the right spot which interferes with getting T3 into the tissues. Don't know if a low Ft3 on the test is a sign of low iron, but what I read it can show a low Ft3 or total T3.

Once my iron is up where it should be, I cannot tolerate very much T3, as well as not tolerating it with low iron.

Of course this is a whole different ballgame.LOL

scrivener827 and Helerown ~~ I can relate to what you both described in your posts. Before starting thyroid meds I would get awful 'sinus-like' headaches frequently that were horrible. After starting on meds I noticed the headache went away, but after a few weeks and I needed a dose increase I noticed the headaches returned. So I do think its thyroid/med related. And when I get the awful 'sinus-type' headache I don't have a runny nose or fever, just pain in forehead, cheekbones, and often teeth/jaw area.

They are miserable!! Hope you feel better!!

Thanks all. It feels 90% better today, so hopefully it will not return.
