Can someone please help me find a doctor in NJ or NY who understands Graves that's became hypo. I am presently being treated by an endo who has me on armour thyoid but I believe I am still not optimal because of various symptoms. Someone suggested top thyroid doctors website a while ago but one of the docs on there I had seen for a while. They truly didn't know what they were doing and were only concerned with TSH which we know means little to nothing with Graves. A person's name would be so appreciated if you had a good experience that could help. It seems as though there are some out there. I just haven't had good luck finding any of them and basically had to scheme and lie my way into getting some treatment.

Sorry you are struggling with your thyroid health. It is really challenging finding a good thyroid savvy doctor to work with. I'm sorry the one off a listing didn't work out; sadly that happens because these lists are updated with patients suggestions and you just never know if the next person is on the same page you are as far as what equals a good thyroid doctor--its the chance you take with these lists. As far as lists I'm familiar with Thyroid Sexy's listing and ThyroidChang.org listing. You could try calling local pharmacy's and asking the pharmacist which doctors in your area Rx Armour or Nature-Throid. You could try calling the Dr off a list and asking front desk if they run the right thyroid tests and if they Rx Armour. Endo's are usually NOT recommended for treating thyroid, they usually just don't 'get it'.
