So I had my appointment with my new Endo today. I left the visit more hopeful than I would have ever thought. When I explained to him that my GP said since my TSH was normal, the low/normal Free T4 was "normal for me" he said that's basically crap. He said the free T4 was the big tell, and at .9, even though that was "normal" on the range, it was way too low and could definitely make me feel bad..
He saw where I was tested for diabetes and it was normal, and asked if he could check me one more time just to be sure. So I said if that would make him feel better, go for it.
He asked if my GP had ever tested my testosterone level, When I said no, he was actually kind of shocked, and said even though he was pretty thorough in having most things tested and ruled out, he basically did a poor blood workup on me and absolutely should have checked my testosterone and should have known the .9 free T4 wasn't good.
He ended the visit by feeling of my thyroid. He said it felt larger than normal, but not TOO big, and didn't feel any nodules or anything out of place.
Overall, it was a positive first visit, and he assured me that if it was something within his control, he WAS going to make me feel better and have me on the proper meds. We all know that most doctors can start off like rock stars and end up sucking pretty bad, but I have to admit the first impression was a very good one. Fingers crossed hoping he can help!!!

Glad to hear that you are thinking ahead, that 1st. apt. was good but the 2nd or third may turn out to be the shits~~~ Hope this Dr. does right by you and gets you on your journey to feeling healthy....
