So sorry, yes good idea to see the doc. If you take too much at one time, well for some people, and can give you palps.

It does sound like it may be too much for you. Could you try cutting the 2.5 in half again? Fern does this and I did it when first taking it.

Good idea I will try one fouth of a pill and see what happens.

When my dose became too much for me, I had to cut it down till I felt normal and no longer HYPER. Expect to cut it down again in case this new dose doesn't work for you.

I had the heart palps on the T4 only stuff.....wonder if that is too high for you now that you were taking the T3. What a juggling act isn't it? Most of my problem with all meds is that I am so sensitive to them. IMO----you may be sensitive to the stuff in the chemical T3 and T4. Not sure how you will find out the problem though. Have you ever tried Armour? (sorry I can't remember if you did or not) It is natural and maybe your body will adjust to it better.

Have a good long talk with the dr for sure and maybe try not to jump around too much....the body gets pretty angry sometimes with doing that. Hugs and stay strong....

I was on the T4 for about a month and seemed to feel good. All my labs were a little better except the T3, that's when he decideded to try the Cytomel. Blaahhhhhhh. But as
soon as I added the T3 all Hell broke lose. I started a fourth of a T3
this AM and so far no palps.

So I won't do that again. So far the 1/4 is working one pill a day

I am very sensitive to a lot of drugs, I'm sure I drive my Doc crazy. No we haven't tried Armour yet. I felt that would be next. I see Doc
next Tuesday. We have been corresponding over the puter.

That's interesting the T4 and T3 might not be compatible with me?
Maybe I should just try the T3? Well I'll work on it.

energylost, It's hard enough to cut the tiny pills into 1/4's much less
1/8's but I will try if the 1/4 does not work.

I keep hopeing he'll say oh we made a mistake you don't have low
thyroid !!!!!! Ha.
Again thanks for the support. I figure my labs don't count as they are
all low, except the tsh which is at 3 now, coming down from 9.

I cut the L-T3 into fat quarters then turn each of them on their sides to slice in half with a knife for the eighth of a pill.

I started over with the L-T3 after having it sporadically off and on, but have built up from an eighth tablet daily to almost a whole tablet.

It took at least a week to adjust to each dose at first, going up by eighth tablets, but today i added an extra quarter because I felt hypo and I will probably go from 7/8, where I am now, to the whole pill on Saturday when I reload my sorter.

I haven't yet gotten adept at taking my pills in a divided dose twice daily, especially when I wouldn't want to take them too late in the afternoon.

I will see the doctor Monday, and check into the possibility of adding L-T4 to my regimen.

No Dr I have seen will even give me t3.. even though my brain died along when my thyroid did... now sometimes I feel like a zombie. I guess it's a game of pick your poison!

I take Mexican cynomel and it works well. My NP did not think my T3 being at the bottom of the range was a problem. I ran out of insurance so had to do something or not live too long. Low T3 has very negative effects on the heart as well as other body organs.

I have to have some T-3 along with the T-4. I was used to having higher -3 all my life and feel just not ME without it.I took Armour but the T-3 was just too much for me. If you decreased the dose, you decrease the T-4 too. I feel the Cytomel is easier to adjust but that's just my opinion.I did good on Armour for quite awhile, till an increase in dose I just couldn't handle.I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin!

bransnana, I am taking 25mg of snythroid, and just added the cytomel,
At 2 1/2mg of cytomel I had tachycardia. I cut the cytomel down to
1/4 of the tab and that seems to be OK. That started out as a 5mg tab.

I don't feel as good as I did on just the T4, but I read that it takes time
for the body to adjust to the dosage change. And I don't really feel bad
just not quite myself.

I see Doc on Tuesday and we'll see what he has to say.
