Hypogonadism Support Group

Hypogonadism is a medical term for a defect of the reproductive system that results in lack of function of the gonads. The gonads have two functions: to produce hormones, activin and to produce gametes. Deficiency of sex hormones can result in defective primary or secondary sexual development, or withdrawal effects (e.g., premature menopause) in adults. Defective egg or sperm development results in infertility.

In other words, you need to figure out if your brain is not firing off the right hormones to get the testes to produce testosterone, or whether your testes are simply not able to make enough...

Low T and ZERO help from my Dr's

    1
Since heart surgery and femoral aorta replacement surgery in '11 I've been at a zero energy level, gained 30 lbs when I WAS in pretty good shape for being 54 at the time...good enough shape I could walk for miles, go camping far out in the woods by myself for days at a time, etc. Since heart failure which lead to the surgery(quad bypass) I knew there would be a period of recuperation and rehab,...
  • Good morning!I have Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome and I'm on life long Warfarin therapy. I'm 60 years old and my testosterone levels have fallen to 134 (1/2014) vs 234 (7/2012). I have been prescribed Androgel but I'm concerned that it may induce life threatening clots. My prescribing urologist thinks the benefits outweigh the risks but he won't be the one having the clot:- (Does anyone...

    3
Anyone familiar with hcg injections being used for hormone imbalances?? Mine won't regulate even on bio-identical therapy and one of my doctors recommended that I try hcg injections to clear out my hormonal receptors. The hope is that my body will regulate itself and I will eventually be able to ween off the bio hormones. I am a 23 year old Asian male, my testicles are quite small as well as my penis, I measured the size of my penis and it's a little less than 4 inches when erect. During erection my penis shaft doesn't come out of the skin, if I try, it hurts. When it's flaccid, it's not even an inch long. I actually feel that the growth of my sex organs stopped during puberty, rest of my masculine features are...

why is this room so dormant?

    1
I would think that Low T is out there yet people aren't in here talking about it. I've had different blood draws show Total T of 108 last year and now 360 this year. Beyond the numbers, I have so many of the symptoms. First time posting in here and wonder why it's not more active. Yeah, maybe it's all just in my head.
