The term hypoglycemia literally means "low blood sugar." Hypoglycemia can produce a variety of symptoms and effects but the principal problems arise from an inadequate supply of glucose as fuel to the brain, resulting in impairment of function. Derangements of function can range from vaguely "feeling bad" to coma and in the worst case, can be fatal.

procedures- how much?

I'm in so much pain over my IBS I'm suicidal. But I'm worried about how much all these procedures are costing/ going to cost. Like an endoscopy/ colonoscopy etc. Are they hundreds like an x-ray? I have health insurance but a $2000 deductible.

When I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy the cost was $1260. To be honest, I can never follow how the insurance works, but even with my crappy student insurance, I ended up paying $263.36. There were also other charges for anesthesia, biopsies, etc.

I don't know--I'm always skeptical, just because none of the tests I had ever came out positive. On the other hand, it is really nice knowing that you don't have tumors or polyps in your gut...
