Hypochondria Support Group
Hypochondria refers to excessive worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis.
I know how you feel with obsessing about your heart. Along with my fear of cancer, I have worries about my heart as well I went through periods when I checked my b/p multiple times a day. Every time I feel a twinge in my chest I panic. I was having anxiety attacks along with it. I was finally put on low dose metoprolol which really seemed to help. It has a way of slowing down the heart and has a calming effect.
Thanks again,
And I hope you can relax too.
