Hypochondria Support Group
Hypochondria refers to excessive worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis.

Of course, the fact that, almost 40 years later, I am on this site seeking support does not speak well of how effective the information was for me. However, I want you to know that thanks to the insight I developed, I have had YEARS of anxiety-free experiences. I do not think that anxiety can be "cured", but it can be managed!
God Bless....
I am really sorry to hear you have experienced this. I know it's not fun at all. However, if it helps at all, I have been there too. My anxiety is mostly health related, especially in regards to hearts. It's so bad that sometimes I cannot lay still at night because I hate even hearing or feeling my heart beat. I can't even begin to describe the number of times I have been convinced that I was about to die, despite so many heart specialists and doctors telling me otherwise.
I have just started talking to a therapist after battling this for years, and it has really lifted a weight off of my shoulders to be able to talk about this without feeling judged. And much like you, I also came on this website today for some comfort in hearing that I am not alone in this, because I know how isolating it can feel at 4 am when you're exhausted but trying not to sleep for fear of dying.
I wish I had more upbeat things to tell you. Hang in there. Know that you are not alone. You have made progress in getting medically checked and coming to a place like this for support. I really hope things go well for you.
