Hypochondria Support Group
Hypochondria refers to excessive worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis.
-Alzheimer's is very common, with more than 3 million US cases per year, so about 1 in 100 people have Alzheimer's.
-Also, about 1 in 30 people suffer from moderate memory loss sometimes in their life (typically from 35-70). This is most likely what is happening to you and you need to question the severity of your symptoms. If it makes you feel better, I cannot remember what I did 2 birthdays ago at all. In fact, I have trouble remembering what I did for my last birthday, it is kind of a blur, and I am under 35 years old.
-Medications and management strategies are very beneficial and popular for those who have Alzheimer's .
I hope I could help. Just do not automatically assume the worst, try to relax a little and focus on something else. I am convinced you are fine, but if you really think something is wrong you could always check in with a doctor. Best of luck! :)
I had some serious brain fog before I accepted my health anxiety. First, I couldn't think of the word "unannounced" when visiting a friend. Then I couldn't remember the last 4 digits of my phone number! But I know both of those things now. I was severely anxious and overwhelmed at the trout that something was wrong with me. I felt bad and I couldn't focus.
Birthdays start to lose their significance with each one passing. I probably can't recall what I did for any of my last 5 birthdays. Now..when you forget what day your birthday is..or who gave birth to you..that is when you you need to worry!
Brain fog and forgetfulness are normal and natural. That's why we take so many pictures!
