yes, my child does sometimes have had checked for strep but comes back negative. Also causes throat clearing too and hoarseness.

I had wanted to find out if perhaps it was an allergy, but referral to allergist didn't really work out as no allergy testing was done. Allergist said perhaps linked to auto immune and needed thyroid testing done but of course some mix=up between lab or gp and never happened. Waited 18 months for that allergy appointment. and then another few months just to hear no test done when blood was drawn.

No wonder people rarely get a diagnosis or treatment.
Sorry usually positive but really frustrated lately, does this never end!

Yes, the throat clearing and hoarseness definitely sounds familiar. This will be the third year that I've had constant hoarseness. It never goes away completely and the ENT can't find a reason!

I'm sorry you weren't able to get the allergy testing done. I went to an allergist and had the scratch testing done. I found out all of my allergies that way. The more severe the reaction the more severe the allergy. Could you get the scratch testing done? Does your child have asthma? I'm asthmatic too. My allergies make my asthma worse.

I hope you are able to get allergy testing done soon and will be able to have a diagnosis made! No need to apologize for venting your frustrations, it's understandable! It's very frustrating. I don't think it's fair that we have to suffer because doctors wait to do testing, begin treatment, etc..!!!!

thanks for your kind words, things went badly at son's doctor appointment yesterday. So tired of lost results and reports and not being referred. Hyperparathyroidism is difficult enough when your adult as so many dr's are unfamilair but a child it is even worse. I think that I am at a turning point. Not sure if I'am too tired to continue or going to go full force no matter the cost or reprocussions. I can't state more clearly that this disease must be treated without delay as the impact on health following is more trying.

I'm so sorry that they lost your child's test results! Also the issue with referrals! I understand what it's like to get referrals. My doctor wants to wait for some magic number in my test results before she will refer me back to my endocrinologist!

I remember many people saying how young I was to have hyperparathyroidism. I couldn't imagine having a child with it! Reading the effects really scare me too.

It is really disheartening when doctors don't seem to understand the importance of treating my hyperparathyroidism early. When I was diagnosed I already had had kidney stones and developed osteoporosis! I will keep you in my thoughts. I hope that you will be able to find the proper doctors who will act in your child's best interest instead of constantly showing their incompetence.
