I have a VP shunt for my hydrocephalus too. My first trip to the chiropractor left me with excruciating headaches for the next week. From what I've read I think anyone is going to have some aches and pains after their first visit but this seemed pretty extreme to me. My neurosurgeon didn't recommend me seeing him again. The chiropractor however wanted to work up some treatment plan that worked everything but my neck. If you are really wanted to go I would recommend have a neurologist/neurosurgeon in the loop and making sure your chiropractor understands you and your shunt.
