HPV Support Group
Human papillomavirus is a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans. More than 100 different human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been characterized. Some HPV types cause benign skin warts, or papillomas, for which the virus family is named. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted...
well, first off, I was actually pretty stunned when she started talking about her dad and HPV. She started saying how common it is, etc. and was a bit surprised when I reiterated some of her statements and then some.
You know, it's funny, I thought about that too (about her possibly having the virus), but when I brought up warts, she gave an 'ewww' so I don't know.
I'm going out with her again tonight, but the HPV is always in the back of my mind. I try not to think about it, but it's constantly there. I will get better over time, but hell, I've already had this for two years.
Well, we ended up going out for a second date and she invited me back to her place for a "PG" sleepover after the date. It was just that, "PG"--making out, nothing below the belt. I am really liking this girl and am wondering when I should tell her about my situation. Part of me wants to tell her right away, but at the same time, I'd like for her to get to know me better and vice versa. I did tell her I wanted to take it slow as I had just gotten out of a relationship a few months ago. I'm hoping this buys me some time.
I am extremely nervous about disclosing this to her as we connect on so many levels. I hope she is understanding.
Thanks for the well wishes; I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
