I posted about a dinner conversation I had a few weeks back with a girl whom I had a first date with. To recap, we had a very good date, but somehow we ended up talking about her dad and how he had complications with HPV. Not the type of conversation I thought I'd be having, but I rolled with it. We ended up going out a few more times and I stayed at her place. (no sex as I was worried about my HPV).
One morning after we woke up, she went to the shower and I was milling around her room. On her shelf I find a bottle with some directions attached. I decide to be nosy and read what the pills are. They turned out to be medication for herpes and I felt sick. I hadn't put myself at risk of getting them from her since I kept my pants on the entire time we were intimate because of the HPV. Little did I know, she had herpes.
Anyway, I called her later that day and blatantly asked if she had herpes and she said she did, (does). She was pretty pissed that I called her at work, but I had a right to know. She said she was going to tell me soon and that she wouldn't willingly put me at risk. Because I was so worried about my HPV, I did hardly anything sexual with her at all, (very PG-13). My point is, you never know who has an STD. I never would have suspected this girl of having herpes, never. I feel terrible for her, but it also put a lot of things into perspective for me. I have had severe anxiety over my HPV, but it gets better everyday. Especially since I have told a number of my friends. It turns out, a lot of them have HPV as well.
An interesting thing about the girl is that after she disclosed her condition to me, I decided to tell her about my HPV. Her response: "well that's not serious, everyone gets that"
From all the stress over this ordeal and a number of other things, I developed what I thought was a new genital wart. I applied for the first time, Apple Cider Vinegar to the wart over night, hoping it would turn white (a sure-fire way to ascertain that it's a wart). It didn't turn white, but I noticed a number of other areas around it that were very tiny in nature, black and pin sized heads. I think these are tiny warts that I didn't even know were there. Frustrating for sure since I never knew they were there! Sometimes I wonder if I will ever kick this thing, but I stay positive and try not to stress out.
From this, two things:
Dont freak out about disclosing your HPV status because you never know if someone may have it or something more serious
Don't consider yourself cured from GW's if you can't see any visible signs. Those bastards can be tiny.

But I think open and frank discussion about sex is always in order to stay healthy.
It sounds like you have a good perspective about this. Be patient, I'm sure you'll meet someone soon.
A little update on the Apple Cider Vinegar wart treatment. All the warts are completely black and falling off. That stuff truly works.
