Hi, i don't mean to upset you or to be blunt but are you absolutely sure that your partner has had no other partners? it's unusual for it to lie dormant for that length of time. You can have sex without taking your clothes off - try a bit of grinding, it's great!

Absolutely sure. I spoke with Dr., and he said it was possible to have been dormant as long as it has. I haven't had a papsmear in probably 20 or more years until this last week. So may be that's why I didn't know I had HPV.

My partner of 4 years has warts yet I do NOT have them. I was checked 3 times by a doctor and even though I had direct contact with warts, I have not yet developed any warts myself. My doctor said some people can fight off the virus and not develop warts even when exposed. I am living proof that you can have direct contact with warts and not develop them but of course, I still have the virus since HPV is FOREVER (it just becomes inactive or active)

Some of his warts were very small, the size of a lentil. They were all over his groin area, some buried in the folds of skin in his scrotum, underneath his penis, and buried in pubic hair. I would have NEVER seen them if the dermatologist wouldnt have specifically pointed them out to me. The doctor said he had a 70 year old who hadnt had sex in over 10 years come in with warts. HPV IS FOREVER. You could have got HPV from the very first person you had skin to skin contact with or anyone after that. It does NOT mean your partner cheated on you. You could have warts yourself for YEARS and not even notice them. There is no way to know for certain who patient zero was - it could have been YOU or him.

My boyfriend ended up getting a rash from the very harsh wart cream. The wart cream was supposed to kill the warts but it was so harsh it inflamed the entire area and now he has a rash and warts! He also masturbated which the doctor specifically told him NOT to do because it can irritate the already irritated skin and make the area worse - which it did. His rash became much worse after he masturbated. I would not suggest "grinding" "rubbing" or having any irritation to the wart area because it could make it worse and take even longer to heal. Even wearing clothes irritates his groin. His rash is a pretty large area and very uncomfortable for him.

I have BOTH high risk strains and low risk strains of HPV, I had a NORMAL pap smear but two years of positive HPV tests so I had a colposcopy which came back CIN 2 and I just had a LEEP two weeks ago to remove the abnormal cells. HPV can cause horrible emotional, physical, and financial pain so being depressed is a legitimate and typical response to suffering with HPV. I dont feel "nasty' but definitely depressed and victimized.

I just try to re-direct my focus and attention to something other than HPV.

I was also prescribed Aldara. I believe it has worked. I’m still far from clearing everything, but it takes time with warts. I found out the importance of rubbing it into the skin. I had severe burns in the inner labia, like I couldn’t even pee without jumping off the toilet. I used two creams both three times a week but on alternate days. One MWF the other TTHS. It’s hard trying to cheer up about it, but just investing yourself in a healthier way of life really helps. Sometimes I fall back into being sad, regretful and ashamed, but it doesn’t do me any good. I have to get my body strong to fight it off.
