Human papillomavirus is a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans. More than 100 different human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been characterized. Some HPV types cause benign skin warts, or papillomas, for which the virus family is named. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted...
I'm not a doctor but a couple of things I can tell you that my doctor told me. Warts want to do 3 things, they want to 1)show up 2)stick around and 3)they want to get bigger. When my warts have appeared they start out as a dot, a small red dot or they start out as a small spot that looks kinda oily or wet. Once I spot something like this the only thing I can do is wait and see if my immune system beats or not. Warts also tend to look like bumps on top of the skin, not a bump coming from under the skin. Also warts will not have a hair in them, if it does, it is not a wart. Once the battle begins the wart, for me, will show up somewhere between 1 day and 1 week. I have also found there a few indicators for me that something is going on. First off I get a little bit of pain in my pelvic area, I also get a very slight pain in one of my testicals, and lastly I will notice that the area of concern generally feels irritated. Not necessarily itchy but irritated. It reminds me of when I had pimples. The area would get red and irritated, but not necessarily itchy.
A couple of things that I have found to be triggers for me is 1)stress and 2)food. Stess is by far the worst and I tend to be a worrier, so oddly enough this virus has forced me to somewhat mellow out. But, stress is a big one. It really beats down on your immune system, especially prolonged stress. I have also found, for me at least, that foods that contain chili powder, paprika, or cayenne pepper seen to irritate the virus so I avoid them.
I hope things go well and this bump is nothing to worry about. Good luck next week. Best wishes.
Went to the clinic... I found one that was open on a Saturday! She looked at it and said she couldn't see any warts but a clogged hair follicle, she was very sure of this. However, I'm still doubting this. It's bad when you doubt trained professionals right!? Anxiety is a bugger!
This bump, I actually scratched off yesterday... which I shouldn't have done. It's red at the moment and waiting for it to heal so we shall see if it comes back!
Fingers crossed!
