Having gw is like UGG what a drag. But know there's light at the end of the tunnel. Also, this forum is a great place to get advice on what stuff works to zap those bad boys.

Nowadays 80% of people will contract HPV in their lifetime. It eventually goes away on it's on in two years. So yeah on that!

The emotional stuff that anyone goes through is like a drag man. I get it. But look at it as a minor skin problem. Not a punishment that you somehow deserve. You deserve love, peace, happiness, and great relationships like everyone.

Be careful with dating someone else who has gw because chances are you two don't have the same strain and that would be a major pain in the ass to get two types of gw.

Oh thats another thing Im afraid of....getting another strain of hpv. Considering I all ready have the kind that causes gw and attacks your cervix. I really dont want another strand. Heck I really dont want the kinds I have now!!!!!!!I was thinking once they approved the Gardasil shot for women over 25 I could get it, considering Im 26 now. But even then that vaccine only protects you from 4 types out of about 80. I wonder what the chances of picking up another strand is? Thanks for saying I deserve a great relationship Im just not so sure Im going to have one with all my insanity. Im scared to get another strand but I really really dont ever want to infect someone with this that doesnt all ready have it. What to do? What to do?

I hear ya, I have 2 kinds of HPV and HSV1...I don't know where all this stuff came from but it's miserable. I've had the HPV for about 8 months now and I've struggled with fighting the warts. I also have the cervical cancer strand. I go in for a repeat pap on thursday and I'm hoping it's gotten a little better. I know they say it clears in 2 years, but I don't want to wait that long to be in a happy healthy relationship. The last guy I told about all this just recently told me I was a God Psycho with STD's.....it's like, who do you really trust with that kind of information....I have a date on Wednesday with a guy I really like and I'm just afraid he's not going to like me..since my last relationship I put on about 30 pounds and just have been really depressed since I found out I had all this stuff. Some days I'm fine but now that I'm feeling better I really want to lose the weight and don't want him to think I'm disgusting....I wish I could just have sex with no worry like before. I never thought this would happen to me. really I guess the warts aren't a big deal, just the stigma that comes with it all really sucks...I just didn't want to have to worry about this at 24....oh and about the gardisil shot. I wouldn't do it. My gyno gave me the option and not only do you need special approval through your insurance but you risk, seizures, paralysis and even death....and that's just not worth it for only 4 strands of HPV....So i'm working out regularly and taking my vitamins, I'm totally stressed at work this week and haven't been getting enough sleep....my dr. will probably remove my larger warts on thursday and my appointment and I just really hope they don't come back. She told me once they are removed they don't return in that same area, but that doesn't mean they don't pop up some place else, and she doesn't remove the small ones. I've been using compound W gel on the ones I have now and it seems to be helping some, so I'm optimistic there, I'm just tired of all this....I just want some one who loves me for me.

a little info....the compound W does not work for GW's...it's a different kind of wart. Any info you read about treatment of GW's will tell you not to use that. Also, they can come back in the same spot after having them removed.
There are over a hundred different types of HPV so the gardisil shot only protects you from 4 of those...and it doesn't "take care" of it if you happen to already have a strain that it protects against.
I think the chances of getting another one are probably about the same...perhaps a little greater..but if so it's only because your immune system is down so just keep yourself healthy! And try to have the safest sex possible.

Good for you, getting back on the dating horse! You aren't being punished for past behaviour. What kind of God punishes people? That's crazy stuff. Don't live in fear, GW are like any kind of wart, just that they happen to grow on your genitals which causes psychological stress, but remember, they will go away in time.
Enjoy being with the guy you are dating and spend loads of time getting to know each other, and enjoy each other's company. The postive thing I have taken from my experience with GW is that, it's not all about sex - the most important thing is to connect with someone and really enjoy them without rushing the sex stuff. In time, everything will sort itself out for you.

I have HPV and have had it for two years, me and my now boyfriend started dating eight months ago. I didn't tell him right off the bat, but after a month or so of seeing each other I told him. He then went and did his own research and was fine with it, I don't know if fine is the best word but he knew that he loved me no matter what. Just have to find the right person, good luck! :)
