Ok freaking out here and looking for anyone who has similar experience.

i had small anal warts pop up back in February. I'm married and have always had normal paps. My doctor said that it could have been because my immune system was down all winter (which it really was).

anyways... I accepted the bad news and got them frozen off and used Aldara. I currently have no warts on the outside. However... I'm soooooo itchy on the inside so I asked my doctor to look up there and she confirmed that I have internal anal warts. She is sending me to a colon specialist and told me they can cause cancer.

im absolutely freaking out and now I think I have cancer. I am in so much distress and no one has called me from the specialist yet. I have only had anal sex a handful of times in the past so I'm confused how they are up there!!

the itching is unbearable some days and I want them removed asap.

Please if there is someone on here with a similar story ... preferably a positive one I'd love to hear it because my anxiety over this is through the roof

The types of HPV that cause genital warts do not cause cancer. You'll be fine once you get the warts taken care of again and be sure to stay healthy. Also, HPV is spread very easily via sexual skin to skin contact even if the warts are not present at the time of sex. Once is pretty much all it takes.

From what I've read, if the warts are up inside the anus they can cause cancer. The ones on the outside do not.

Well, worst case scenario, remember that stage four cancer doesn't happen overnight. Cancer is easily beat if it's caught and treated early.

HPV warts are caused by "low risk" forms of HPV. It's the high risk forms that cause cancer.

I can only imagine how itchy and uncomfortable they are. I once had hemorrhoids (internal) that burned and itched. My doctor told me to cover cotton pads in Witch Hazel and put them in the freezer, and to apply one to the anus area when I was irritated. It helped me a lot - especially when trying to fall asleep at night.

Let us know what they tell you, I just recently noticed some small ones toward the inside of my anus and I'm really scared as well >~<

I see a general surgeon on June 13th. Since I can't see up there I don't know what the situation is but I don't have any itching etc anymore. I'm nervous and so embarrassed

Update. So I had a surgeon take a look with a camera and I only have 2 small warts on the inside. Just have to wait another month or so for her to remove them. I'm very anxious that they will test positive for dysplasia.
I haven't had any warts on the outside since the end of March and no itching at all so I'm also hoping they don't return.
Should I get a Pap test done too? I'm not due for one for another 8 months but what if I have warts up in my cervix too?

Well I finally had the surgery..only the first day. No pain yet. I never saw the doctor afterwards. They want me to schedule a follow up apps for the 26th. Don't know if I will be able to go so soon for the appt
