HPV and relationships

Hi everyone, I am 43 and was just diagnosed (on Monday)with a high risk strain of HPV after having my PAP test done. I’m trying really hard not to beat myself up over this diagnosis. I told my boyfriend right away and he is having a hard time with it. I’ve tried to tell him that we can continue to have a healthy relationship. I’m wondering if it truly is possible. I would love advice on how you made relationships work. Thank you.

Hi there I was just diagnosed with strains 18/45 in June, had a colposcopy no biopsy needed, however had an AGUS ecc result so my doctor needed to do a d&c and cervical canal scraping that tissue came back as normal now I sit and wait. I contracted this two years ago and still no cell changes. Just started taking ahcc in October. It’s the waiting that’s so horrible. I re pap in 6 months to see if changes have occurred.

I wish I had answers for you, but I am in a similar space with no answers for myself. I am 44 and was diagnosed with a high risk strain one year ago. Abnormal
Pap, colposcopy and biopsy which came back not yet cancer but concerning. So, I have a cone biopsy and LEEP surgery in May. Next pap 4 months later...abnormal. So, another colposcopy and biopsy. Fortunately this time the biopsy came back clean. Just had my next 4 month pap last week, and I await the results. I am terrified, concerned about the need to have a hysterectomy, and being single, I can’t bring myself to date as I can’t imagine telling anyone I have this and/or risk infecting them since I know I carry the high risk version.
