So I'm home this evening after being dropped off by my friend who took me to my first surgery. It was so funny...we were both so chilled about the situation. I remember the first time she was literally zigging and zagging around cars to get me on time for the surgery. I was really freaking out about the first surgery but at the same time wanted to get there on time. The problem is she's the only one that was able to take me and she lives almost an hour from me and the facility is about 45 to an hour from both of us.

This time she was a few minutes late but I was like well we'll get there when we get there. And she totally drove much more casually then last time. We wound up being 20 minutes late due to bad weather (it rained really heavy in Chicagoland in the early hours) and traffic.

So we get there, wait to be prepped, the different nurses and the anesthesiologist were going over things with me and asking the standard 'what did you eat for breakfast'...correct answer 'nothing'..deal. Then I was wheeled into surgery...don't remember shit...was groggy...and my friend said the doc said there weren't as many warts, which I feel is a good sign.

Still not looking forward to that first dump post-surgery but I'll be okay. The anesthesia is starting to wear off so I'll be popping my first pain pills shortly and likely taking a nap.

I just hope this is the last surgery I have to do. I do remember after my first surgery feeling a tingle like a wart was still there. So far I haven't felt that but then again I'll know for sure after the drugs wear out.
