I just got diagnosed this summer. I broke up with the guy I was dating recently and share your fears. But I decided to date again anyway. I too felt like I was damaged goods, but that thinking comes from the largely patriarchal society we live in that places our value on our vaginas. I do not plan to have sex as my body resolves the virus and so feel no need to tell anyone right now. The pressure to have sex is what got me in this situation. So here's a chance for me to find out if a guy would spend time with me outside of sexual relations. The funny thing is I find myself sometimes grateful for contracting this. I have always cared about my physical and mental health, but I continually risked my sexual health just so I could gain a man's affection. Since having HPV my health is now my priority and not male companionship that has provided me nothing, no family, no marriage, nothing but warts have come from these relationships. I know that is not what you were looking to read, but I guess I am just trying to say concentrate on being a healthier and lovable you and the rest will follow. Nothing is "damaged" about that.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago. I just turned 33 years old now. I still hope for a future with someone，but I don't know how to deal with it. Since I'm a guy there are no tests to detect it. I also don't have any clue about how to talk about it in future relationships or even if I should.

Try stay positive. I know it's difficult but I try keep a positive attitude and remind myself there are many things in life to be happy about. I really do hate HPV though :(

I've been clear for 2 years. I've been with my current boyfriend for the past year. We went out a few times and then I told him and answered all of his questions. You don't know if someone is going to be fine with it until you tell them. I know some people say not to disclose it. How did you get clear and did you date during those years while you were getting clean? I just found out and I have two tiny ones and my doctor said not to worry about it too much but I have to tell my gf now and it's killing me. I don't know who I got it from because I have been with her for about 3 months and I ne'er notices anything on her. I'm going to get them removed by burning them since they say that's 94% sure thing that they won't come back at those same spots again but I'm worry that they might show up in other places. I don't know if I should continue sleeping with her. I'm going to tell her this week so send prayers my way because I really love this girl.

Bluehorse: did your current partner end up contracting the warts as well?

Hi, I was diagnosed with low rist HPV in Aug 2012. I used ACV and got rid of the warts in about two weeks. I had no symptoms since then but I am not sure this means I am clear of the virus. I didn't have any new sexual partners since and I am not sure if I can still give it so somebody or not. I wish there was a way of finding out. I've been clear of symptoms for 4 and a half years. I am now thinking about having sex with a new partner and I am terrified in case I would pass this to him. It is really a romance breaker. I didn't tell him yet and I don't know how to.

I was diagnosed with GW about three years ago, unfortunately the Girl I was with at the time freakout out and we split up, luckily I had not passed them on to her!! Since then I have had three partners, all of which have been fine with my condition, although this said It still petrifies me when ever I have to tell any body! I hadn't actually told anyone in all this time except the women that would have been effected at the time and as I have been single most of the time, have struggled on and off with depression.

A lot of people say its an invisible distorter and that it would be best not to tell, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't tell them, I hate liers most in life!!

I found out after getting married. The doctor told me that I could have had it for years and never had any warts develop or I got them from my wife. Either way it worked out fine and we had 2 awesome kids. It's really all about being honest.

I got it over 30 years ago. I don't have any visible signs except where I damaged my skin and it is hard to keep it clean where it was. I just started using vinegar and it seems to work well. My condition seemed to worsen after I had the flu recently but I believe I will be OK. It is a shame that the options are limited for a complete cure. I had what most would call a good sex life. I have been celibate since I was 56 and I am 63 now. My treatment is ongoing and I hope to report good progress later.
