Genital warts in men

I have noticed an abnormal bumps around the anal opening last few weeks and I decided to ignore. So, one day I finally decided to go for check-up. And sadly, I felt so stressed out and down as the doctor said i was infected with HPV; genital warts. I was so sad and starting to hate myself. I felt dirty. The doctor applied some topical and It burnt like really bad. I couldn't wash it for 6hours! The next day I noticed the warts started to fell off the skin. But my mental state is going insane thinking about the worst possibility of having GWs. There are some articles talk about GWs and anal cancer, but some disagree with that. I just need support. I just need confirmation that this is nothing than just a wart. Please help.

The types of HPV that cause warts aren't the same as the types that cause cancer. The more you educate yourself on the subject, the less you'll worry.

Yeah, I contracted HPV in my early 20's. My girlfriend at the time was a little unfaithful and I found out too late. Such is life, lol.

Hi Decadance,
I have been in and out for treatment for 6th time already (within 2months). Sadly, when the warts peeled off another appeared at diff spot. Do you have the same case as well?
